Have a read if u haven't done so already.
It'll be a FANTASTIC day for Belletts and old school Isuzus in general, so let's really make the effort to celebrate 50 Yeats of Belletts in Oz.
The date will be either Aug 23 or 24, so it's plenty of time to get ready too!
Kim's already throwing ideas about for the day, and what with her job being the organisation and running of some impressive events, it'll definitely be one not to miss, especially if u can't get to the Nats in Oct.

Cheers.
Brett.

quick update:

Greg (Qld), Julie (NSW), Dave (SA) and myself (Vic) have been in constant consult and have just about set details further for the Bash.
at this stage, subject to final approval the date is set as August 17 (1 week earlier than stated). this suits the NSW guys and girls much better as they have a big event organised already that's been confirmed.

as a side thing, we've all come up with a grille badge for a momento of the day, and Greg is kindly getting them made for us all.

these are available to order and will be available closer to the day.
cost is $20 each, and u can order multiple. once u commit to them, u own them as they are being specially made.
each state has a rep to order thru, and yours truly is the Vic rep, so if u want some bash bling, get ordering.

we'll keep u info'd on further details of the day itself soon.
cheers.
Brett.
BCCV Secretary.

Guys and girls.... Get in QUICK if u want one (or more).
The original allocation to Vic was 20, and atm 18 are sold.... So if u don't act now, u'll be disappointed.

Hey all.
Make sure u lock in August 17 for the 50th bash in your calendars, as it will be a day u seriously don't want to miss.
Prelim plans are in place for the BCCV day, and it will take us on a great drive, retrace some of the club's past, hopefully visit something new with club ties, and we'll have a fantastic meal as well.
Stay tuned.

Hi all.
Due to time constraints personally, Gav has taken over distribution of the badges for u and will be in contact soon.
Payment can be made directly into the BCCV bank account. If u need those details, plz let Gav know.

Otherwise, the event is coming together.
A starting location has been arranged (is outer eastern suburbs) and the route we'll take for the drive looks great so far.
Is thru some really nice countryside along some great roads, and is an area that (to my knowledge) we've never visited before as a club.
The finish point will be familiar to most of us tho, and I'm hoping that it will also include something pretty cool as well.

Further details to come soon, but plz feel free to contact me if u have any q's.
Cheers.

Do we have postage cost details.... eg for one and two badges. That will make it easier to send the right amount of money.

“Big Bellett Birthday Bash”
August 17, 2014.
Celebrate 50 years of the Isuzu Bellett in Australia!

2014 is the 50th anniversary of the Isuzu Bellett first going on sale in Australia, so the BCCV, along with our brothers and sisters right around the country, are celebrating in style.

On August 21, 1964, dealers commenced sales of the Bellett in this country, so as August 17, 2014 is the closest Sunday to that exact date 50 years on, we in the BCCV, as well as the ICCA in NSW, the OSJCC in Qld and the guys and girls in SA have decided that a true, simultaneous event in each area should be held to mark the occasion.

Here in Victoria, a run of 50 km’s in length has been arranged to signify the 50 years, and with only a month to go before the event, we’re in need of responses of attendance.
We’ll be starting at 10.30am at Emerald Lake Park, and after using some fantastic roads along the journey, we will finish in Yarra Junction. This trip should take us approx an hour, but we expect it to take a little longer as we’ll stop for a few photos along the way that we can then share with the other groups around Australia via social media and the bellett.net forum so it becomes a truly interactive event.
We will also have some other clubs with various other makes and models of cars as special guests along on the day, so let’s PLEASE MAKE A HUGE EFFORT TO COME ALONG.

Yarra Junction has been chosen as our destination as the BCCV began there from Ben Barker’s vision to create a club in 1979 for all Victorian based Bellett enthusiasts to enjoy, so we feel that paying credit to the most significant event in our club’s history should be joined with the most significant event of Bellett history in Australia.
We will visit the exact location in the town that the club formed, and will also visit something in Yarra Junction that has a very important history within the town, a largely unknown significance to the BCCV, and is now serving the community in a wonderful way for its future as well.
Afterwards, we will adjourn as a group to a local hotel for lunch..... And that’s why we need RSVP’s ASAP so we can notify these venues of numbers.

RSVP IS COMPULSORY, SO PLEASE RSVP ASAP
(BEFORE AUGUST 10!!!!!!) TO BRETT ON:
0407 327 726
or
bellettclubvic@hotmail.com
WITH NUMBERS OR YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED!!!!!

This will be the BIGGEST party in Australian Bellett history, and has taken 50 years to come around.....
So if you miss this one, you’ll be waiting another 50 years for the next.

as an aside, does anybody know what thread is on the back of the badge ?

Every nut i have here won't fit. I was planning to use 'proper' nuts to fit it, plus a locking nut as i think the knurled nut supplied might vibrate loose eventually. It appears to be a 3mm but course thread?

RSVP is 10th August I think ?

Speaking of Milestones, I fitted a Shannons 25th also from 1997. Shannons used to hold a very successful 'Picnic in the Park' event and this is the first i think. I also have the 1998 badge, which i think is the last. A shame it never continued. It filled the road around Albert Park Lake. (where the F1 is held)
Why put this up? Just so happens that Shannons apparently started in 1972, the year of my Sport. This badge is the 25th Anniversary one.

[ by the way, the nut is a 1/8" BSW ]

Hi all.
Reminder that the RSVP for the BCCV's day to mark 50 years of the Bellett in Australia is this Sunday, August 10.
The day itself is being held 1 week later on August 17.
RSVP is compulsory as numbers are needed for our destination venue and for the pub for lunch.
So far, we have about 30 people coming along, so please make the effort to attend this once off event.
Cheers.
Brett.
BCCV Sec.
