G 161 fuel pump

Post by GTtoo »

Everyone checking out the grotty bowls of my engine bay ?? Note my tempory fix RAA style which kept her goin'. Two small adjusable clamps to compress the top and bottom halves of the fuel pump. At least 3 of the 5 screws holding them together had stripped. The inlet housing thread was partially stripped but had enough grip to pinch up tight with some brass washers, but still leaked a few drops after turning engine off.

Thanks Farmer, to the rescue, there is a fuel pump sitting on the kitchen table ready to install. :D

Whatever works I suppose! Hope the replacement is O. K.- It will at least be lighter!
Cheers, Matt.
