These rolling shells are all oblong tail light models, not strip light, yeah? I'd go a strip light sedan.

Re: Expensive toy
They love their miniatures up there, especially vintage kits...there's been a plastic Bellel kit on Yahoo Auctions for nearly $3k for a while (haven't checked for it lately) and an early Cedric kit for over $3.5k!!! As much as I'd love them, you'd have to be completely insane.

Re: Gemini ZZ/R
Very cool...I loved them when I was a kid and owned a TE Gem. I made a lot of enquiries into then plentiful G180 and G200 half cuts from Japan with the thought of converting mine, but it was all too much when I was a povo student. Fast 4's featured a beautiful white ZZ/R coupe many moons ago (down ...

Re: Making tail light lenses ?
It's a bit of a rough guide, but has been done this way before! However, if you're going to give it a go this way (as opposed to more expensive silicone moulds and vacuum casting), make sure you find the right materials:

an NOS early series bonnet badge, still in the box, is better.

Re: Reproduction Parts - Part 1: GT Hubcaps
Hubcaps too, although tooling for these was expensive, which drove the part price up to US$1,000 per set. Was hard to generate interest at that price to some extent, the old chicken v egg situation of increased interest = more customers = lower cost = blah, blah, blah.

Re: Reproduction Parts
Digging up this old thread, just out of interest, here's the Silvia badge set I had made...stainless steel (no rust or pitting, strong and close to original weight), sandblasted (for casting effect in centre), polished, chrome-plated, then painted blue and red, an order of 10 sets came in approx ...
