Sad I missed this.
I have water pump issues atm.
Would be down to purchase one or maybe even 2 if there are any more.

Re: Water pumps
Bit of thread revival here. Sorry about that.
Has anyone use a prebuild kit to repair one of these pumps?
I put a NOS pump into my G161 OHV engined Luv a few years back and have had trouble free motoring (Well in relation to water pumps) since.
Changed the coolant last week and used a flush. On ...

G161 Engine Knock Anomaly
I have a strange knock that I am hoping people smarter than me may be able to assist with.
It's in the G161 pushrod engine in my Luv Truck.
It has presented itself twice now. Once around a year ago and once today.
Sounds to me like a rod knock but I'm no expert. Pace matches engine revs. From ...

Re: What engine does this gasket kit suit??
Thanks James,
I have those Pistons saved in my watch list, might wait to see what mine are like first.
Managed to find crank bearings, rod bearings, cam bearings (hope these are the right ones), timing chain, std rings and already have a conversion gasket set as well as what can be borrowed from ...

What engine does this gasket kit suit??
I have this NOS gasket kit I picked up a long while ago. It is labelled ISUZU 98851-21800 and suits a side flow motor.
At the time I thought it was going to fit my G161 however the inlet/exhaust gasket is all off. (The motor in my LUV has square exhaust ports and round inlet ports which is the ...

G161 Rebuild time - Questions
Hi All,
My G161 in the Chev Luv is tiring these days. Low oil pressure at idle when hot is the main reason for this thought and thread. I have the idle set at 900- 950RPM currently which is keeping the oil light from flickering at idle.
I am fairly certain that the bottom end has never been opened ...

Re: Fitting a Weber DGV to G161 in Chevy Luv??
Rigged the aircleaner with a couple of zip ties.
Can report that it runs rather well. I think the primary main may be a tiny bit off but all in all, much smoother than the Nikki and no air leaks!
Can't detect a whiff of power increase whatsoever however I didn't bother to match port the manifold ...

Re: Fitting a Weber DGV to G161 in Chevy Luv??
I made a bracket quickly to support the throttle cable stop. Not the prettiest setup but it works.
Will need to change to a solid inner choke cable as it won't disengage when pushed back in currently.
It runs though. And sounds quite happy after a quick idle screw adjustment. Haven't taken it for ...

Re: Fitting a Weber DGV to G161 in Chevy Luv??
Ah yes, I see the differences in the linkage.
I definetely have the G161 OHV motor however in a Chev Luv the throttle is cable operated. It has a bracket that mounts the outer cable and creates an adjustment point and there is a barrel style knob on the end of the inner cable which connects to the ...

Hi Asroc66
How did you get the throttle cable adjustment mount to work? I have the carb and have a copy of the Nikki throttle arm on there but need to adapt the adjustment mount somehow.

It's a lot of money but at the time I was concerned I may not find another one. I didn't want to go electric.

Fitting a Weber DGV to G161 in Chevy Luv??
Hi Everyone,
I have been having trouble with the Nikki carb on my LUV. Sticking high idle at times, popping at idle, Air leaks, worn linkages and general other annoyances.
Now I could rebuild the Nikki but that wouldn't fit the worn linkages and if the castings are warped I might still have air ...

Spotto - white 4 door Bellett in Landsborough QLD
Saw a beautiful white 4 door waiting at a set of lights turning onto Steve Irwin way.
I was in my blue mk1 ford escort and not the LUV unfortunately. The driver of the bellet gave me an odd look when i have him a very enthusiastic thumbs up out the window but did wave back.
Anyone on here?
Nick

Re: water pumps
Seems like fair pricing if it is all legitimate.
I was interested more in whether they are being manufactured rather than whether the pumps are old. I agree, there shouldn't really be any deterioration over time.
I tried Alibaba but no one would sell me a handful, all wanted minimum orders of 500 ...
