Re: 1967 ISUZU BELLETT GT

I haven´t visited here for a long time... That looks like a very good project if we look it from Finland. Our GT projects have been so rusted away.... that they nearly have not been.. And it´s also mostly because they were in rally use here. I have restored one GT and one 2d Sport and with both ...

Re: Urethane Rubber components ie timimg chain Damper

Original timing chain tensioner rubbers are still available from Isuzu Motors. We have some stock here in Finland. But they cost 35 euros each.

Happy and Great New Isuzuyear 2012!

Re: the life of rolie

I and Esko were there at Goodwood Revival and what a journey it was! I drove about 600 km on the "wrong" side of the road in that weekend. And I hadn´t done that since I visited Australiain early 90´s. Hmmmm... a couple of times I also drove on the "right" side. You have good horns there in England ...

Re: 1970 Isuzu Bellett MX1600II motor show photo

In Lahti, Finland, there was a Classic Motor Show this weekend. Our Club had there one Bellett 4d sedan, one GT, one 117 Coupe and my Impulse. Tom Tjaarda was there and when he visited to see our Isuzus, I asked him about the MX 1600-II. He said that he had nothing to do with that round headlamp ...

Re: rear wheel bearings

I ment cutting off only the collars. The bearings are easy to knock off. How did you get the collars off? And how did you put them back? They are too tight and difficult to get off and new ones back only with a hammer. Or did you use the old ones? I have changed rear wheel bearings many times and ...

Re: rear wheel bearings

I have cut the collars off with an angle grinder. After having put the new bearings on, I have put the whole axle with bearings into a freezer and the new collars on the electricity stove. When the axle is cold and the collar is so warm that it is red, you only drop the collars with tongs around the ...

Re: weather

In northern Finland the cold record this winter is now -41C. In army I was in commando training and we slept several times in eiderdown filled sleeping bags in snow holes. These bags were tested that you can sleep in them naked when there is -30C, but we had the lowest only -10C.

You are wellcome ...

Re: weather

Heh-hee... "your eyes can freeze open".. Yes, maybe, if your breath "steam" freezes to your eyelashes a long time and you don´t do nothing to get it off. But that is more an urban legend..

My Impulse garage is cold, but of course I have (as we all have here in Finland) an engine block heater that ...

Re: weather

Minus 32 celsius and about 1 meter snow here in Finland where I am living and also this morning driving my Isuzu Impulse. So, we have also much water here, but it is in more solid form than yours.

But don´t worry, of course I have +24 C inside my house

Re: Vale: Ken Bloor. 26/3/50 - 9/12/10.

I haven´t visited your site for a long time. But now I did... I took my letter archive and red all the letters I got from Ken and Carol Bloor during the years. We sent information about Isuzus in Australia and Finland, some parts, stickers, club magazines and Isuzu videos. Ken writes about one video ...

Re: 1968 Grille badge/Emblem.

-68 GT and GTR have different kind of grille "GT". -68 has metal badge and GTR has a plastic one. They also look different. Those new plastic GT badges were sold out from Japan about 1985 but there has been new 1600GT badges and if you cut of the "1600", you get a perfect "GT" for the grille. I ...

Re: Fiberglass and carbon fiber panels for Bellett GT/GTR

Great find JT191! The quality looks good in those parts that are on the photos.. And the prices...hmmm...if you need and want those parts, they are not so bad.

I just wrote to "Share your Bellett History", that I had in my ex GT glass fibre GTR bonnet, front fenders and the lower back part of rear ...

I had glass fibre GTR bonnet, front fenders and lower part of the rear fenders in my ex GT. Bonnet and those lower parts of rear fenders were made in Fun Motors Finland. "AriNojd", who has written also here, still makes them. And now I have ordered a GT roof for my racing Bellett... Those front ...

I just spoke with Klaus W. who is selling this Bellett rally car. He will reduce the price to 5000 euros, 9815 AUD. It has the new FIA pass and it´s legal for official FIA rallys all over the world.

Re: ISUZU BELLETT/GEMINI/117 COUPE DOHC TWIN HITACHI INTAKE

It must be from 117 Coupe, because only 117 Coupe had Hitachi made SU:s with twincam. 117 Coupe had also 2 x twin Mikuni Solex and fuel injection models. Bellett had only 2 x twin Minuni Solex and Gemini and Piazza had fuel injection. But that intake manifold suits to all these Isuzu G twincams.

Did everyone know that MrJ is from Finland? His "I´ve never seen one here" means in Finland.. I had a Sanyo radio in my -66 Deluxe... So, it can maybe be an original radio.. I have it still as a garage radio, working with battery. I have seen different kind of radios in bochures but never just like ...

Re: Ex Rally Bellett 1500 in Finland

Yes! There we are. I have that same photo here at work on the wall. I remember that this specialstage was driven two times. First time we went this jump 80km/h (much too slow..) and this, the second time flat out... The photographer asked us later that how can our car be in one piece after that jump ...
