Re: patches
Davo, Ross was contacted today and was wrapped to here the resto was complete. he said it was a big part of his life 27 years i think he said. The car is not 100% done yet a few badges, boot carpet ect needs doing but with missy off the road i had a gt entered in racq motorfest and decided to register it
I had the nervous gitters after knowing how many pieces it was in but it did a 200km trip for rego and was happy to do the trip. For some reason it let a big backfire go about 80 km's from home just to put me back on edge when i felt comfortable with it
. The speedo stopped half way to our destination as i must of forgot to tighten it up and a shocky needed a nip as it must of settled. I need to check the fuel gauge as it does not tell the truth and oil pressure gauge is all over the shot [tony].

Re: patches
Fantastic post and fantastic build
Hats off to Greg and Lizzie
For the record Patches' engine is powering both my cars
Head and gearbox is in Bella while block is in Asroc crying for mercy
The motor was seized solid and had blocked oil galleries
It took 1/2 inch flat plate steel and my grandad's 6lb hammer to break out the pistons
Had to grind the crank 10 thou under big ends and 30 thou under mains so Patches had been enjoyed in its earlier life
The head was ok thankfully and was ported and polished and fitted with larger valves etc
Origional twin carbies were absent so luckily had a set in boot when purchase Asroc
The rest is on the forum
Cheers

Re: patches
I knew you had the original engine. The engine in patches is tired i regret not rebuilding it when i did the resto. Patches would be the best presentd gt i have a lot of time was spent on guard gaps panel alighnment ect. I have another gt engine machined up but not assembled yet. Patches only does local runs until we fix his heart beat up then he can do a nationals.
