Dude call me if you ever want to sell that beast! I have to ask that, coz years ago I parked next to you at U-Pull-It and you'd left a message on the Rat Bellett!

Actually, you should bring that bus up to the Uraidla Rod and Classic show!

My RS41 Crown AKA wine - o bus progress report

Post by crownsixfour »

Thought i'd post an update of what i've been doin for the last 12 months
i've been installing a 1uzfe toyota 4 litre quad cam V8 into my crown progress has been slow but the engine is mounted now just have to do:
Trans Mount
Steering rack conversion
custom radiator
new diff, im guessing the old one wont like the new engine
oh and custom headers
the plan is to leave it in the matt black which should keep the rat rod people happy (dave), but i may have an opurtunity to by an imaculate grampa spec crown soon, then its just just a matter of swaping the chassis when the conversions done

Very nice ... a bloke at work used to have a two door version of the little bit later model, gunmetal grey with gold trim, simmons in matching grey and gold trim, very nice.
PAINT IT ... sorry Dave.

Cheers
Rob

:o  Nice shoehornin' job, sixfour! Should go nice! Awesome, just as it is.
But, you're not gunna go through the whole thing again with the grandpa car? I'd probably keep the minta original & have 2 awesome beasts! But I am a freak for mintas, and I am greedy!
Plaese show us the grandpa, if it turns up - soft spot for old crowns!
Cheers, Matt.

Just in this Crown-related thread, does anyone want a one-owner 1973-ish boat-front Crown?

It needs work and a re-spray. This guy tried to donate it to the Birdwood Mill National Motor Museum, but they didn't want it as it needs work. Because it has sentimental value, he then tried to sell it to me (National Motor Museum gave him my number, bless him!) for 'an offer' but because I have too many cars, no Toyotas and no space, I'm not going to buy it.

I need to call him though as I said I would. Any takers?

I reckon you could secure it for about $700. Haven't seen the car but would be prepared to go and have a look at it for someone.

Will need to be trucked if it's going interstate.

Lemme know!

Cheers

Dave

Dave, if it was purple with a white interior, I'd be stampeding down there with the money in my hand (not to mention, if it was a wagon or hardtop!)...too many projects and no real need, unfortunately. I love old Crowns...getting a bit teary looking at the old one above  , as I love them in original condition. But, each to their own...I'm sure the world won't run out of them in my lifetime.

Cheers,
Duane
