The lond weekend in June each year, Gulgong on the Central Tablelands of NSW celebrates the life of the well reknown Australian poet Henry Lawson. Born near Cowra NSW and he lived most of his life in Gulgong the occasion is celebrated each year with various events including a Street parade through the main Street of Gulgong, local cars and Hot Rods from Sydney drive to Gulgond to join in the Parade.
The Gulgong, Mudgee region is a very popular tourist region recently with many wineries to visit, in fact the yacht "Wild Oates" 3 times winner of the Sydney to Hobart yacht Race, is known as the "local or Mudgee" yacht as the owner lives in this region, owning a very large Vineyard. The HENRY LAWSON Museum located in the southern end of Gulgong's, Mayne Street is certainly worth a visit.
The weather on the June long weekend can be cold, so rug up if you are planning a visit to take part in this annual event. In the last 2 years of the Car Show after the Parade, my 1968 Bellett GT has taken out the award for the "Best Post 1950's Classic", a 1936 Auburn Supercharged Coupe has taken the best "Best Pre 1950's Classic".
If you would like to come or intend to come give me call.

Don't forget all, June is approaching fast and the Weekend in Gulgong/Mudgee is on again. IF you do plan to take part give me a call it is usually a cold weekend even so enjoyable. I will post pictures after weekend.
Also don't forget the National Heritage of Motoring day on May 17th, the Isuzu Car Club is having a drive to Kangaroo Valley for Lunch, drive down as a group return in own time after lunch. We will be meeting at Macdonalds at Narellan at 1000 am, for a steady drive to Kangaroo Valley Hotel. ENJOY!!

Thanks for the post, Dave. We are planning to attend both. Because we are coming from the south, we will probably meet you all at Kangaroo Valley. Looking forward, Matt.

Hey Guys this turned out to be a good day! We had 5 Belletts turn out for the day, 4 sedans, 1 GT. Matthew Smith, Gary Smith and their wives and family, Gary Carter, Neville Hannah from Sydney and myself. The weather behaved itself and gave us a sunny reasonably warm day for Gulgong. The only disappointing part of the day was that so many cars turned out for the event, some of us had to park in another Street and the judges either forgot about us or just didn't bother to look over our cars, Hey BUT WE HAD A GOOD BELLETTING DAY!!!!! Plenty of photos taken, when I can reduce the size of the files, I will place some on the Forum.
All the way through the Parade people were pointing at the cars, you can imagine the comments, like always I would suggest.

Aaaahhh, thank you Gaz and Monica, now I don't have to post my pictures. YEP IT SURE WAS GREAT SEEING THE CARS TOGETHER AGAIN!! My new camera is 8meg and I have just learnt how to reduce the size of the photos as they are too large for the Bellet Net. See you all in Adelaide!!

Guys,...Guys,
A friend once said the GT was the hottest "cocaroche" on wheels ever built. Too damn right. The sedan was refered to as the hottest "nautilus" on wheels. Is that the two finger salute Davem ?? Could be an SA road hand sign !! Just showin' some attitude around the corner.
Great line up, and much loved by all. Looking forward to "the squadron" joining the litl' flying contingent down here.

B, Not a rude salute, just a salute of approval! Loved the day, great sight the cars together. I have made up small magnetic signs for the side of the cars, "ISUZU CAR CLUB of AUST. INC", so people can recognise members of the NSW Club, they look good and do not detract from the appearance of the cars.
IT WAS A GREAT DAY!! DM.

An amazing array of machines mustered together for the parade - everything from steam engines to xu-1's. Snapped a few -

Amazing what turns up at these shows ! Thanks for sharing, especially the last shot putting all into perspective. The nautilus coming up beside the stingray. Or David and Golioth maybe.
