Asroc66, I have had the same response via the agent, but have also sent a request direct to the manufacturer. I have asked what size order they would need to do another production run. Wait and see what comes back.
I would take at least 2, and I am sure if we all looked at our cars and spares, we could probably manage a decent size order ?

Interestingly the GMB pump matches the OHV engine while the Protex brand is for the later OHC 1800.
Would just need to make sure we order the right one from GMB
I would gladly order 2 or even 3 if less that $150 each

I have only enquired about the GMB-140-1130 that Redback has just fitted.
I expect there would be more demand for this than for the OHC pump.

Yep
I am just interested in the OHV
the OHC are readily available
My point is that the suppliers commonly only stock or mail out the OHC not knowing the difference
Cheers

I'd go a couple too, even though I just finished fixing mine.

I had a long discussion with my local radiator guy and he rang a bloke at Australian Truck Auto Parts,(ATAP) to
find out why the discrepancy in the part number. ie. PWP1001. This blokes advice was that Protex had sourced the pump direct from GMB and packaged it under that part number. Because there were no stocks available at all in OZ,he was unable to confirm this by taking a photo of 1 and compare it with the picture in the Protex catalogue.
Have a couple of leads to follow up on suppliers.
Will advise.

Dave.

I hope you have more luck than me Dave.
I received an e-mail from GMB stating that they had received my enquiry, but have had no further response.

Well, I have still had no response from GMB, despite a second request. So I have found another manufacturer in Germany, and sent them a request for information on a suitable replacement. They do list pumps to suit some Isuzu vehicles, although not the Bellett specifically, but you never know if you don't ask.
So fingers crossed.

About the waterpumps, I might be of help with original isuzu rebuild sets for all the 1500 and 1600 ohv type engines. Costs will be 60 euro for a rebuild set.
I have also 2 used pumps on the shelf.
For the sohc engines I have new pumps available, but that does not seem to be a problem.
gr Dick

I can confirm that a water pump I bought locally (new old stock TRW) for a 1973 to 1976 Chev luv 161 also fits a G200W twin cam.

These pumps are also still available from the state via Rockauto

Bit of thread revival here. Sorry about that.

Has anyone use a prebuild kit to repair one of these pumps?

I put a NOS pump into my G161 OHV engined Luv a few years back and have had trouble free motoring (Well in relation to water pumps) since.
Changed the coolant last week and used a flush. On the second big drive it's started leaking from the relief hole :(

I have two rebuild kits.

Wondering whether I press the bearing shaft away from the impeller side or towards the impeller side??
