thanks mate, The fires have made a big impact up here with quite a few choosing to leave. When I left home it was very hazy with smoke and lots of ash and debri in the air.
The fire fighters are doing there best in some horrible terrain. My thoughts are with them and those that have lost.

We also had some hangers on from loby stay with us yesterday. but went home late that night

our thoughts and prayers go out to the people who have lost pets, livestock and property.
the firefighters and the organisation team have done a sterling job, as we only lost approx 20 home's and no deaths!
i know that the local community will rally around and support everyone.
the worst is over but still a lot of work to completely control the 170km fire front.

once again, well done to all our volunteer's

this is a picture one of the neighbors that stayed took last night, the fire got close but not actually up to the town itself.
We Stayed with the in laws who all laughed at me when i wanted to get a car trailer and get my Florian!
We are home now and just keeping an eye on the alerts from all the different sources.
Many thanks to all the fireys and associated people for the effort they have put in to try and stop the fire.

Not sure how the Freegaurd place has fared as there has been alot of fire activity around that area. Hopefully all is ok there.

Hey there South Aussies,
I hope you are all safe. Fires happen so quickly that sometimes you just have to leave early. Staying safe is No.1.
I sometimes look outside and wonder about keeping a bunch of rare cars in close proximity, could be risky. But they have to be somewhere, and I try to keep them drivable so I can move them to an open area. Problem is, there probably wouldnt be time. At least this is grassland not bush, and the local brigades have a good record.
Mr Flibbles, perfectly understandable wanting to save one of only a dozen or so examples remaining. Not like its a common Mustang or Monaro or something!
Stay safe friends, Cheers, Matt.

still not in a comfortable position with two fronts less than 5 km away according to the fireys. I'm hoping tomorrow the wind changes and temperatures don't push it all back to us.

Tried to give Keith a call but noticed I don't have a phone number for him any more.

Anyone got some digits for him?
