Gear Box drain plug!

Post by 1968GT »

Some of you maybe aware others will not.

I have gotten over the years, tired of trying to find the right tool to remove the mushroom headed drain plug from the gear box. Looking at the way the drain plug has been butchered over the years, it is obvious that other people have had the same issue. (no reference to you Glenn).
Recently I visited Repco in Mudgee who stock various sump plugs.
AT LAST I found a drain plug that is easy to remove with a normal tool, it comes in a kit of 2 pieces, the plug and a new gasket.

I have installed one to my GT and it fitted perfectly and no leaks. :D

It is a Repco part No. RSP 1011 D/Plug 20x1.5 std.

I hope this helps those who get dismayed over trying to remove that drain plug to change oil in the gear box. ;)
