My dad gave me this mag the other day doesn't have a article to go with the cover shot witch seems a bit odd but yeah

There's a setting that can fix that, but I've forgotten what it was! And because this computer is not currently connected to a scanner, it won't let me open the program so I can tell you what it is! When I next fire up the lappy, i'll check the setting and let you know. It would be good to look at the photo without incurring double-vision! Cheers for scanning it though! It's choice, bro.

Scan it a higher res (600 dpi or above?), then scale it down on the PC to the correct size. Since the picture is made of black and white dots, scanning at to low resolution creates that funky effect. As dave says some scanners have a setting to fix it too, but i usually go hi res and scale.

I scan my brochures at:

High quality
300dpi
Descreen: Magazine (175lpi)

These are settings under MiraScan, but any other scanning tool should have something similar.

This makes the pictures pretty big and like Antus said, I normally reduce the size down (but I keep the full size one as well).

it seems that when i re size it thats when the dots show up Meh im to high on cold and flue tablets will try later

ahh, you need a better program then to do the resize. email me the hi-res version and i'll see what I can do it with then clean up the thread. thanks. [email protected]
