Nudge nudge, wink wink
Well still has 3 bearing crank and normal aspiration......
3 bearing engines rev better than 5 bearings IMHO
You know the game Stickie....

Re: My 1966 Bellett 1500 sedan
Today I removed the heater from the cabin, changed the pipes behind the heater, and put it back. The result - heater works now.
It seems, I am getting pretty close to the target - to have the car running good for the Oldtimers Winter Rally.
Some minor electricity problems to be solved, maybe a bit of adjustment for the brakes and that should be it, If everything goes well. Tomorrow I hope to have about 50km test run, and then we'll see. So far so good, today I had a short test run without any problems.
Question about the heater once again - there is a small button beside the fan switch, what does it do?
I hope tomorrow I can take some photos of a Bellett in snow.

Re: My 1966 Bellett 1500 sedan
First run on the highway. No surprises. Engine temp was OK, cabin temp was OK (could be warmer dough). Goes up to 100km/h, but it gets too noisy. 90km/h is OK. I didn't have the carpet on the gearbox tunnel, hopefully it would help to reduce the noise even more.
Approx 25km run, and no problems appeared.

Re: My 1966 Bellett 1500 sedan
That's awesome news to hear.
My Donkey is noisy even at 10km/hr...... but my car has no interior at all other than the drivers seat and a bed on passenger side. No door trims, no floor mats, not even any bailey channel for the window glass

This question is still haunting me.Bellett_EST wrote: Question about the heater once again - there is a small button beside the fan switch, what does it do?
Wiring chart says "heater blower(optional)". Does it mean there should be 2 blowers, in the upper unit (the one with levers on both sides) and the lower (where the heater radiator is in)?

Re: My 1966 Bellett 1500 sedan
Had a test drive about 160km today.
Driving 90km/h seems to cause trouble in cooling system. Somehow the liquid dissapears.
First 20km took the temp gauge up to HOT mark. No pressure in the radiator, took off the cap and added some liquid. Next 40km was OK, them was between the middle mark and Hot. There was some pressure in the radiator hose. Added some water.
Then had about 80km drive only 60-70km/h, the gauge was half way to the mid mark. Some water still dissapeared.
There seem to be some white smoke/steam from the exhaust, but there is no pressure in the cooling system. Could it be head gasket or not? No external leaks detected.
Brakes are bad, probably some air in the system. Will deal with it tomorrow.
Clutch has gone bit jumpy. I suspect the slave cylinder, it has a minor leak. Probably has to survive the Winter Rally, will repair it in the spring.

Re: My 1966 Bellett 1500 sedan
Today I made history.
Got my car inspected, and it turned out that for the first time, there is a street legal Bellett in Estonia.
My har has been in Estonia over 17 years (I don't know the first registration date, because it was not marked before 2001), but has never been inspected before.

Re: My 1966 Bellett 1500 sedan
I can now say, that my mission was sucessful. Oldtimers Winter rally (Uunikute Talveralli 2018) completed.
Bellett was brave, no technical errors, besides oil consumption 1L/100km.
350km of curvy, icy and snowy roads in Southern Estonia was really enjoyable, Bellett fits perfect on slippery roads.
Result was 4th place out of 124 participants, 2nd place in my group (produced before 1978).
Some pics, will add more if I find any.

Well done and congratulations on the placings.
Are you burning the oil (smokey) or is it leaking out?
