I left site to buy the gang a pie or two and came back to this. Concrete pump packed up and gone.

I'm building some rural fences for friends 20mins up the H/way from dean and it's hot and sunny.
Better than yesterday though..... the humidity yesterday was a killer but the late afternoon lightning storm was spectacular to watch with a cold brew in hand.

Slab done!!!!
Tomorrow will be spent laying down a bit of bluestone road base to stay above the mud if it rains.
Monday the micarno set starts going together.
Time to have a little nap

Hi
Back to that GTR Florian
I recall this car being mentioned on other sites
Voldemort was proud of achieving those torque figures on a std motor with twin 45 Webers F2 Emulsion tubes Std Cast Exhaust and 26 - 29 Inch 2 into One section into a full 2 inch system. DOUBLED THE TORQUE.
Cheers Flying

decent size, about 26 x 12m ? It might become the Bellett Wharehouse of the north.Gunna wrote:The plan is to figure out the plan

It always hard to believe unbelievable until someone does a back to back test on the claim (coming to you in early 2016Glenn wrote:hard to believe though ! Doubling.flying wrote:Hi

Re: Mount Stradbroke Bellett Shed and things.
Don't those figures come from an on-road dyno? The Torque figures are derived mathematically depending on a number of factors: This is interesting:-Gunna wrote:It always hard to believe unbelievable until someone does a back to back test on the claim (coming to you in early 2016Glenn wrote:hard to believe though ! Cheers Flying. I have a friend who owns a dyno so it shouldn't be too hard to sort out. And willowbank is just down the road

Re: Mount Stradbroke Bellett Shed and things.
I have no idea Glenn.
Mmmmmm a bit complex for this little brain. As long as it skips down the 1/4 in a hurry and drives comfortably on our highways it'll doo.
I am looking forward to trying that particular recipe of parts and getting it tuned.

Re: Mount Stradbroke Bellett Shed and things.
it seems to boil down to the exhaust mods...... if it were that easy (?) then makers would be doing same thing. And it should apply then to any Bellett engine ?Gunna wrote:I have no idea Glenn.

The DOHC is a nice engine, more go than a GT engine... but no powerhouse or torque monster. Love to be proved wrong though, since have one ready for a 'project'..

Mathematically derived.....?
Sounds like hocus pocus to me, because hours and hours of dyno time on real race cars has taught me that claims are one thing, but actual output is another.

I missed something with the gtr florian! would love to hear and possibly see more of that! And your shed has given me severe shed envy, going to be awesome when finished!

Re: Mount Stradbroke Bellett Shed and things.
what they are saying is that torque, power and rpm are maths related. My limited understanding of a dyno is that it measures one parameter and calculates the other. So maths are involved. And yes, Dyno figures can be made to lie..... "how many hp would you like to see on the graph"PR91 wrote:Mathematically derived.....?

Thats why I doubt those massive nM figures....
from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dynamometer
A 'brake' dynamometer applies variable load on the Prime Mover (PM) and measures the PM's ability to move or hold the RPM as related to the "braking force" applied. It is usually connected to a computer that records applied braking torque and calculates engine power output based on information from a "load cell" or "strain gauge" and a speed sensor.
An 'inertia' dynamometer provides a fixed inertial mass load, calculates the power required to accelerate that fixed and known mass, and uses a computer to record RPM and acceleration rate to calculate torque. The engine is generally tested from somewhat above idle to its maximum RPM and the output is measured and plotted on a graph.

The reference to the Florian GTR was just me stirring. Voldemort (he who must not be named) had put his twin cam into a florian.mrflibbles wrote:I missed something with the gtr florian! would love to hear and possibly see more of that! ah I see, no idea who he is, but would love to do that if I had another florian (just to put it up you regular bellett drivers!)

Photo for the day, what the hell is this?
We see weird things up here from 2 foot earth worms to ten foot red bellies but this little hissing monster has me stumped.
