that's all to come at some stage down the track Rob, as we (the new committee) don't have the club account details and the rest quite yet, but will soon.

thanks to Glenn, Steve and Peggy for a smooth transition with all this, as it isn't a simple thing to do.

cheers for joining to everyone so far tho, and special mention to Dave for his kind words.

the response we've had from prospective new and former members wishing to join the BCCV has been overwhelming, and we would luv to thank each and everyone one of you for your faith and support of our great little club.
special mention here must go those who's previous experience wasn't acceptable to say the least, and there wasn't an isolated incident either, so to see those former members willing to re-join is a fantastic thing to be a part of.
to think that the club was (in my own opinion) in not a good state at all, especially membership wise, and now only 2 weeks later has such a bright and active future is very encouraging to say the least, but believe it or not, when all the promised membership applications are received and accepted, the BCCV will have practically DOUBLED it's financial membership within those same 2 weeks as well!
that's an amazing effort by all involved, both committee and members, and as the President, i'm humbled by way everyone is getting behind us, so I thank you all.

latest news:
the BCCV committee is having a meeting next Tuesday nite (21/2), where ALOT of matters will be discussed, both at management and regular member levels.
this is definitely all good for the club, and hence it's members, of course, as we now push forward into a very exciting time for all BCCV members!
stay tuned

Brett, it's very nice to hear of your enthusiasm for the BCCV's future but not so nice to hear the old Committee's nose rubbed in the dirt here, seemingly at every opportunity.

You are of course entitled to your opinion and I do hope you and the new Comm. can indeed re-invigorate the Club. Last year we had 20 members as you are aware and now apparently have 20 more, picked up from this group. Way back we had over 100 members so there is a way to go, but of course those heady numbers are unlikely to be repeated i think as the retention factor decreases over time and enthusiasm wanes.

The old Comm. did their best at the time I feel although you may think not, but you can't make people re-join and certainly can't make members come to functions. eg the Christmas break-up, 4 only attended. Yes, you can argue about communications etc and certainly this has been a very valid issue and I made it clear at Comm meetings, more to do with emailing newsletters (and it seems, some missed out on this also) rather than the traditional hard copy mail-outs.

Keep us posted through this forum and also to members, through the newsletter also, of the new plans and outings etc for the BCCV. Can I suggest a 'Committee Meeting update' section in the newsletter for that purpose?

Yourself and Stephen are to be congratulated also for re-newing the 'Nationals' which has certainly sparked a lot of interest and been very well received.

I don't want to see a tit-for-tat on this, I think it is more constructive to move forwards now.

Glenn,
apologies if u thought i was having a shot at former committees, as that certainly wasn't the intention.
i think these things have happened for a few reasons, none of which are really anybody fault as such, but we all agree that identifing the issues and moving forward to make the BCCV better for all with the rest of the Bellett community's enthusiasm is much needed.

my thoughts are defintely only pointed towards a positive future for the club and it's members, and my comments are there to ensure that this point is received by all current, former and new members of the BCCV.

and yes, communication in all forms will be the most improved aspect of the club, and that will be taken care of in printed and electronic forms at all times.
i totally agree with you that snail mailed newsletters must be sent to all members, and if some want an emailed copy as well then we are more than happy to do so too, as just emailing simply doesn't work.

happy to keep you informed.
Brett.

Thanks Brett, there have been a number of comments in this forum which were along that vein. If we keep bringing up the past, then we never move ahead. Some of the comments directed collectively at the former committee now find some of the same people in the new Committee which might make them wonder why they stayed.

Ok, I think enuf said on this matter and I hope I don't have to say more later.

an old saying says that "the only thing you get from looking behind is a sore neck" and is very true.
but it's good to know that many of us are passionate about the club and it's future.
cheers.
