Steerin wheel/hornpad, under dash shelf, gear lever & possible lack of dipper switch all look '69. Motor looks ''67, but with cold air intake. (JDM?) 2 horns on driver's side means '68 or later, but with '66.5 - '68 grille.

LOOK, plastic still on the (unusual) passenger door trim! Pretty good value, locals should be all over it!
Cheers, Matt.

is she a real late '68 Deluxe, which is why she has rear guard air grill, high back seats and late transmission and clock in dash.
just before the 1600 Sports Sedan series i would say.

anyone else got 2 cents??

Yeah it's the model with the Tacho under dash, and the wires running up the side
to the roof, :? :?
Looks like it is nice and clean, over $3000au would make it fairly expensive by the time it it imported.
Just a tip if you are interested, let it come in as a 67 model, easier to get it complied, the later the model the more they need
Mine is 72, and has to have lap belts in the rear, 73 require retractable belts in rear and 73 require child restraints.

Cheers Geoff.

Yes all done, there are mounting points for lap belt, and made a plate to fit in the corners of parcel tray,
still has to be inspected,( mine is GT, think would be harder for Sedan). They will never be used, but they have to be there, when it has been inspected, I intend to poke down behind the seat.

let us know when its checked. Would like to see how you did it.

Retractables could be much more difficult i think. Child restraints ..... maybe used out of a car from wreckers?

I wonder if this has to be done if the car is going on Club Permit ?

Good trainspotting Oz, early blinker switch suggests there's a dipper switch under that mat. Non-woodgrain also suggests '68.

Perhaps, like here, owners fit what they have in the parts bin, or what they prefer. And yeah Geoff, for me that doesn't include that knee-buster tacho! Though, when I was 17?..............

On the Belts topic, different states have different rules. In NSW you only have to have the original equipment equivalent for full or historic rego, although for full you have to find a mechanic that would be happy to give a Blue slip without the belts. Not easy, as they don't want it on their conscience if I get scrunched.
Also Geoff, you'll have to slip it on at the border, because we have the "if its there ya gotta use it" rule. 4 points + 4 for each passenger, and double on holidays & long weekends!

Cheers, Matt

Hi Matt, was referring to the rear seat belts to be behind rear seat.squaub, as there will be no rear seat passengers.

Glenn Front seat fully retratable belt are easy to install, just have an angle plate bolted to original floor mount, and bolt retractable unit to angle.

I did not have to fit retractable to the rear, only statics, but I think you can get retracable that work on the horizontal, would have to look into it but i think they will all work with a degree of tolerance to the vertical or horizontal, but with angle of the rear parcel tray on the GT may be a problem.

That's a very confused car. My 2c...

As far as I've been able to determine, those rear quarter vests were a 1970 -model onward thing only. In fact, everything about that car screams post 1969 except the grill and tail lights!

Need a.photo ip under the dash to see if its got that massive strengthening beam that appeared on the 1969s onwards!

yeah. except the horns are 67 1/2 and the tappet cover is same vintage. square should be from 68 at latest but look how much stuff can, could be changed. may have had a complete engine swap out or whole front end...

very very strange. so many different parts from different vintages. just grabbed what was closest on assembly line!!!

more 2C

rather a 1600 sports myself
