Just call a lock smith out. He should be able to open it and cut a new key.

Matt, is that car yellow or creamy white?
That sticker is very interesting, Tom Amos with one of his friends might just be able to find out who that Flo belonged to?
I was only aware of 2 Florian's in the ICCA, mine was one of the original models in white, the Jim Gore and family had the other, also white??
See if you can find any info on the old rego number?
Might be an ex Gore family car?? Mine was the very early model.

Yeah, Dave I wondered about that. It is white, and last rego was 18 years ago. That puts the fellow's son I got it from at about 22 as he is 40 now. I did wonder if it had been yours. (No rego number on the sticker.)
Would be good to find its history as its a fairly easy do-up body wise. Mechanical condition t.b.a. as I have plenty else to do. Still in catch up mode after the trip.
Cheers, Matt.

Like you said Matt, if you can get the boot open there maybe books in there??
Mine had the flat headlights and the small tail lights, the first model to arrive.
I know the Gore's would be very interested if it turned out to be their old car??? ;)
Both mine and the Gore's Flo's were the same colour. :)

Well, got into the boot. Pretty easy really, remove back seat and vinyl sheet, half crawl through with multi grips and pull out the lock retaining flange. Lock then lifts free, and screwdriver turns latch. 8-)
No jack, or chocks or toolkit :( but...

perfect spare cover, like Aunty Mary doesn't have! *Yoink!!* :D
Original paint touch up tin in place too, but rust flakes just holding together!
No rust holes in boot though! :D

Very fun,
Matt.

Dave I think you have overlooked at least two other Florians that I can think of. Also it would not (likely) be our old Florian as the sticker would have been Bellett Car Club of NSW back when mum and dad had theirs.
The two others I can recall, belonged to the Collinson family, and also Denny V. picked one up a few years (probably more like 20 years) ago.

They were both different colours Warren I believe, not white! Denny V was a cream/yellow colour and I don't think Michaels was white either.
I also had a turquoise Florian around 1979.

155SR14. As it fits the cover, I think this must be the radial equal of the original rubber. Also good for cutting up your pizza....

So I decided to fit it and get my jack back from under the parts car, when I dropped a nut under the car. Crawling under to get it I wondered, what can this be?

Maaaaaate! They always start!
I've been pretty busy, so haven't had much chance, but I just had to try!
First look, it seemed the motor was locked up tight, but it was only the waterpump. Took the fanbelt off and the crank turned easy.
So then the usual WD40 treatment, made sure the tank was clean, (it was!) found a spark, filled the carbie bowl and turned the key. And she fired up! Even the fuel pump brought fuel up! After a soak in 'blaster' and some tapping on the fan the waterpump released. So I filled it with water and went for a little drive! 8-)

But there is a hole in the bottom of that bodgey radiator nearly as big as the one in the top! So I'm in the market for a radiator as I don't have any others.

Awwww rats it doesn't hover after all....... It just drives like a normal Florian

Hmmmmmm, hovering Florian......
I wonder if I.........no, theres probably not time to try that.

When I say I went for a drive.......well it was a short drive......clockwise.
The previous owner had a mishap with a roundabout all those years ago, so the left lower wishbone is bent. So it only turns right. But I've got a spare front end, so its all good. Thats why it went in that shed, and it outlasted the shed!

These motors continue to amaze me, 18 years it stood, now it runs, idles, theres no exhaust smoke, no sump fumes, and only a bit of tappet rattle. And I haven't even changed the oil yet!
I have all the bits it needs, apart from the radiator, numberplate light and the dashpad. So I reckon I have to at least give it a tidy up!
