New original GTR:s were only sold in Japan. To Finland was imported 18 new GT:s. 1970 came 3 SOHC 1600 GT:s and the importer changed the engines to new 1600 twincams for the importers rally team. Two 1600 twincams have been made here from SOHC engines by installing twincam heads and pistons to them. You can even make a twincam from an OHV engine. 4 of our 1600 twincams are still running and one is missing. The homolocation forms allow to put 1600 twincam to GT:s and even nowadays you can get the FIA-passport and drive it f.ex in historic rallys as an "original" GTR. Maybe you already know but that is because the body numbers are the same series in GT:s and GTR:s. I asked it from the Isuzu Motors Ltd and they only know how many GTR:s were made but they don´t know what the body numbers are. When somebody ordered a GTR in Japan, they only took the next GT body from the line and put a twincam engine and other GTR equipment to it.

We were under the impression (and we could stand corrected) that the GT-R's had the prefix PR91W stamped on the firewall. Perhaps the W came at the end of the chassis number and was stamped after - can anyone confirm this?

I'll have to go thru my stuff; still some brochures to be scanned that may reveal all!

Anyway, I'm getting off topic!
