A couple of more pictures, been busy finishing the interior of a 1980 caravan. Need it out of the way to concentrate on THE TRUCK. Just love the solid thunk of the doors when you close them, makes me all nostalgic. I am reliving a past life, obviously being repaid for leading such a wholesome life. (Yeah, right)

Re: Elf and Safety
Truck started today, radiator holds fluid (no leaks), throttle cable needs replacing. Carby flooded (kit to go through it) Original sewn floor mats removed,Original windscreen washer bag still under dash. Clips on floor vent still work, lights and horn work, indicators don't. Very minor rust in floor, original vinyl on seats under felt covers.

Re: Elf and Safety
Another successful day, and thank you to the expert passing by who told all about my 6 cylinder chev built Isuzu that was imported into Australia by American Motors prior to them building Isuzu Bedfords which were also built in America. I still cant find those other two cylinders though(beginning to worry). Have moved it where it can't be seen from the street. Stripped the seats out ready for the motor trimmer. Gave the cab a good vacuum out (some women are funny about thier Dyson's, they are made to vacuum up crud.) Drivers seat is 75 mm wider than the passengers and has extra padding in the squab, no end to the luxury provided.Took a good 3 hours to remove the left rear brake drum, full of dirt and wasp nests. Just persevere and a pressure hose got me there. Front left, both slave cylinders leaked , rebuild or replace. Left rear looks like relatively new cylinders. Brake and clutch pedal/master cylinders out for clean up and rebuild. One unusual storage "can" fed both master cylinders. All coming along nicely and am enjoying the job, feeling quiet "fond" of THE TRUCK. Kicking back with a coffee and a couple of chocolate digestives, feeling good about my progress. (don't get to smug)

Re: Elf and Safety
There is a bizarre mix of familiar and unusual stuff in there. That handbrake lever looks familiar at the very least!
Also weird what works on an old machine... I seem to constantly have troubles with my horn (no jokes please)... but the horn on this works just fine!

I have never seen 1 of these in the flesh. I don't want to sound like the dude that knew it all either, but have a look at the us ebay and see if some brake bits are chev luv not being funny here but some of the wasp and luv stuff are the same.

Re: Elf and Safety
The more I delve into THE TRUCK the more finicky little quality detail I find. The throttle linkage under the cab is a real work of art as are the gear linkages. Must have taken some time and effort to install. Discovered a 12 volt power outlet under the dash(work light outlet???) The windscreen washers are worked by a manual hand pump down the right hand side of the steering column. Lever operated radiator drain on the cowling of the radiator, saves getting under to drain it. Still has the writing on the washer reservoir bag. Got back brakes active along with handbrake. Still sanding and de-scaling bits and pieces. Am have some luck chasing parts that cross over from other early Japanese vehicles. LandCruiser used the same clutch slave cylinder.

Re: Elf and Safety
Dismantled engine covers removed radiator and gave everything a bit of a clean up then I noticed some pieces didn't fit quite right. Some brackets were not in use anymore and some cables and wiring looked out of place. On closer inspection and a bit of sleuthing I discover THE TRUCK is fitted with a 2R motor from another Japanese builder of vehicles. Bit of a re-think about which way to go now.
